This is a series of stories compiled by schoolchildren from the four schools in the parish in the 1930’s collected by the Folklore Commission.

Folklore and local traditions were compiled by pupils in the primary schools between 1937 and 1939. This included oral history, topographical information, folktales and legends, riddles and proverbs, games and pastimes, trades and crafts. The children recorded this material from their parents, grandparents, and neighbours.
